š What's New in Foodback 5.5.0 & 5.6.0
š Campaigns That Run Between Pulse Surveys
A campaign that replaces Pulse used to be shown on every visit, so you lost Pulse feedback for as long as it ran, and regular guests saw the same campaign again and again. Campaigns now have an ask frequency, just like One More Question.
Choose how often: every time, only once, or once every set number of weeks or months.
Pulse keeps coming in: guests who aren't due for the campaign go straight to Pulse.
Per unit or per account: decide whether a guest is counted at each unit separately, or once across the whole account. This works for both Campaigns and One More Question.
Unit overrides: on the new Units tab of an account campaign or OMQ, give a unit its own frequency, or set it back to follow the account. Enforced OMQs can't be overridden.
Only answers count: a guest who opens the campaign and leaves without answering will be asked again next time.
Several campaigns at once: guests get a campaign they're still due for. Campaigns with a limited frequency are shown before "Every time" campaigns.
See it at a glance: the campaign and OMQ lists show each one's frequency.
Good to know: a change to the frequency applies to past answers straight away. For example, switching to "Only once" means everyone who has already answered won't be asked again. Standalone campaigns are not affected.
ā§ļø A More Inclusive Gender Question
The gender question in Pulse and Campaigns has been updated, so it fits your market and your guests, and the answers stay comparable across all your Units.
New standard options: every survey now offers Female, Male and Prefer not to say. "Other" has been retired.
Optional extras, your choice: switch on Non-binary and I use a different term under Surveys ā Consumer Insight. Both are off by default.
Account or Unit: set the options for the whole Account, or let each Unit choose its own. If the Account enforces its Consumer Insight settings, every Unit follows the Account. Campaigns always use the Account's settings.
"I use a different term" stays private: guests can type up to 30 characters. The text is never shown in dashboards, exports or emails. Clear answers are counted as Female, Male or Prefer not to say, and joke answers are counted as no answer.
Simple, comparable reports: dashboards, exports, emails and filters show four groups: Female, Male, Prefer not to say and Another gender. Earlier "Other" answers now appear as Another gender.
In every language: the new options are translated into all survey languages, and the gender filter gives the same results whichever language you use Foodback in.
š” Prizes at Every Unit
Until now, a guest who spun the Happy Wheel at one unit couldn't win at any other unit in the same account until the quarantine time had passed. That suits a chain where one prize per guest is the point, but not a food court or a campus where every unit is its own outlet.
Per unit or account wide: your account can now let guests win once at each unit within the quarantine time. Account wide stays the default. Contact us to switch your account to Per unit.
Clearer quarantine settings: each unit can now follow the account, have its own quarantine time, or have quarantine turned off. Contact us to change the quarantine settings for your account or units.
Fairer to returning guests: only kept answers count towards quarantine now, so a guest who comes back after the quarantine time is no longer held up by answers that were set aside earlier.
š„ļø Surveys That Look Great on Desktop
Guests who answer on a computer now see the survey in a phone-style frame, centred on a backdrop in your brand colour, instead of a stretched mobile page. Phones keep the layout they have today.
A standard Pulse fits on the screen without scrolling
Picture answers are sized to fit laptop screens, so guests can always see the Next button
š Find the Right Venue Faster
On a group landing page with 20 or more units, guests can now search by town or postcode as well as venue name. This helps when one QR code is used across many venues, for example on packaging. Make sure each Unit's town and postcode are filled in to get the most out of it.

āļø Under the Hood
Behind the scenes, gender answers are now validated and stored the same way everywhere, and existing answers have been migrated to the new format. We've also sped up the checks behind ask frequency, tidied up translations and cleaned up our build tooling. As always, we keep tightening security and stability under the hood.
